Robert Kwesi Koomson was born on August 21, 1949, in Winneba, Central Region, Ghana, to a carpenter father and a trader mother. His early life was marked by a strong work ethic and a passion for learning. After completing his elementary education, his family relocated to Mim in the Ahafo Region, where he attended Mim Secondary School for his senior secondary certificate examination.

Mr, Koomson furthered his education in a commercial school in Kumasi, developing skills that would serve him well in his future endeavors. He then joined his father in the woodworking business, honing his craft and learning the value of hard work. With a career spanning several decades, Mr. Koomson's passion for woodworking and furniture making was evident in every piece he created.

He worked at Scanstyle Mim Ltd, where he gained more experience. Later, he joined Mim Timber Company Ltd, further refining his expertise and contributing to the company's success. However, his true calling was in furniture making, and he eventually decided to focus on his own business, pouring his heart and soul into every creation.

In 1976, Robert married Maame Afua Akyereba, and the couple started a new chapter in their lives. However, Mr. Koomson's entrepreneurial spirit soon led him to Nigeria, where he sought new opportunities. Unfortunately, he was among the Ghanaian exodus migrants deported back to Ghana. Undeterred, Robert returned home and set up his own furniture shop, which flourished due to his dedication and hard work.

Through his work, Mr. Koomson touched countless lives, providing functional and beautiful pieces that brought joy to many homes. His dedication, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence earned him a reputation as a master craftsman.

Mr. Koomson's talents didn't go unnoticed, and he was offered a teaching appointment at the Mim Roman Catholic Middle School. He taught there until the introduction of the BECE system, when he resigned. During his time at the school, he also served as the parish's woodworks artisan, showcasing his creative skills.

In 1990, Mr. Koomson decided to relocate to Kasoa, a more economically active business location which is also closer to his hometown of Kwaman, in search of better opportunities for his family. The move marked a new chapter in his life, and he continued to work hard, leaving a lasting legacy for his loved ones.

Mr. Robert Koomson was a dedicated and skilled craftsman, whose passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him. Mr. Koomson left behind eight children, each of whom, he painstakingly ensured to have attained at least a university degree. He often reminded us, that he did not want any of his offspring to grow up to do the work he did. He taught us honesty, hard work and respect for others. Mr. Koomson's legacy extends beyond his impressive body of work. He inspired others with his kindness, humility, and generosity, leaving a lasting impact on his community.

As we bid farewell to this remarkable individual, we take comfort in the memories of his remarkable life and the countless lives he touched. May his legacy continue to inspire everyone who knew him.
